Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Overview Trailer

Nintendo has just released an official Japanese Overview Trailer for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. The trailer goes over the main objective of the puzzle platformer and also confirms a Japanese release date of November 13th. The game will then arrive to North America on December 5th and hit Europe in January.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Launch Date Trailer

Nintendo has just uploaded the official Launch Date Trailer for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The title launches in North America on November 21st and can be preordered right here.

A Sneak Peek at the First Amiibo Set

Nintendo has just released a new trailer giving a look at the upcoming first set of Amiibo figures. Amiibo will be launching alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on November 21st in North America. Those in Europe are going to have to wait until November 28th for Amiibo and until December 5th for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

IWATA SAYS NINTENDO “HASN’T BEEN TARGETING CHILDREN ENOUGH”

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata explained during a conference held in Osaka this morning that one of the problems with the Kyoto based company is that it hasn’t targeted children enough. Iwata remains resolute and says that he’s “thinking on how to make the company stand up again.” We should hear how Nintendo plans to turn itself around during the investors meeting which takes place tomorrow.

“We haven’t been targeting children enough.”

Update 3: Various NeoGAF members have been trying to clarify Iwata’s statement and it’s as follows: “We haven’t been targeting children enough” or ”Our approach to targeting children has been inadequate”

Update 2: Dual Shockers stand by their translation and say that Iwata said Nintendo hasn’t been targeting children enough. This is verified by a NeoGAF member too.

Rumor: Nintendo's Next Gen Consoles Codenamed Nintendo Fusion Terminal and Nintendo Fusion DS

Everyone knows the Wii U is a console that's suffering. It's shortcomings are multi-pronged and according to an anonymous source, Nintendo could already be working on a new next-gen console.

The Wii U's struggles stem from the hardware itself falling somewhere between last and current gen. Faring better than the Xbox 360/PS3 but unable to compete directly with the Xbox One/PS4 in terms of performance. Coupled with a lack of third party support and an overall identity crisis, Nintendo's recently posted sales figures of a third consecutive year of losses could be just the impetus behind the recent chatter around a new console in development. Game Informer Says Nintendo Will Be Showing a Previously Announced Title at VGX

To most, this is going to be received as bad news. Game Informer has just clarified that Nintendo will be showing a previously announced Wii U title at the VGX Awards. Most are assuming that the title will be Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

I'll go ahead and say that if that is the case, Nintendo is in trouble. Sales are continuing to plummet and Nintendo needs to give gamers a better reason to purchase the Wii U. Let's hope its Zelda or X.

Mario and Luigi 3DS XL Bundle in Silver

Nintendo has just released a new limited-edition of the 3DS XL. The silver unit shows the to brothers on its outer lid and comes with Mario and Luigi: Dream Team preloaded onto the device. The package bundle retails for $200 and is available starting today.

Next Zelda to Bring a Unique Experience Beyond Expectations

As we all know, Nintendo has been working on the upcoming Legend of Zelda Wii U title for quite some time now. News has been scarce on the subject. We do have this new detail on it however. The series' producer Eiji Aonuma has stated that Nintendo aims not just to satisfy fans with the new Zelda, but to create something unique that goes beyond what people expect.

These words are found on the signed certificate of authenticity included in the new Prima Guides Zelda box set:

“It has been 25 years since The Legend of Zelda was introduced to the world, and it is still going strong. This was made possible by the fans who love the series. In the next installment, it is my desire to create a unique experience that is beyond your expectations. We are privileged to have your unwavering support.” 

Although we don't know much about the upcoming title, it's nice to receive this bit of news. It's rumored that we won't be seeing it until 2015. Until then we at least have Super Mario 3D Land which was recently released, and many other great upcoming titles for Wii U.
