The Legend of Zelda and Metroid amiibo Series On the Way?

The above image is a screenshot from an old Nintendo video in which they announced amiibo. Keep in mind that we only were aware of the Smash series of amiibo at the time. However, if you look at the silhouettes, you'll recognize the Mario and Tom Nook figures. The Mario represents the Super Mario series, and Tom Nook represents the Animal Crossing series. What about Link and Samus? And even the Pikmin? We haven't seen these poses before. Could there be new series' on the way?

Toys "R" Us Cancels Amiibo Pre-Orders Again

Late last year Toys "R" Us attracted the wrong kind of attention when it emerged that amiibo pre-orders were being cancelled en-masse, causing justifiable consternation among affected customers. The company promised an update over the festive period and issued coupons to enable customers to re-order their amiibo figures from wave two and beyond. This issue was affecting orders for existing toys and, most tellingly, for this year's Lucario figure, which is exclusive to the retailer.

Despite putting its processes in place and re-placing orders, it's now circulating around the web that orders are being cancelled again. We've had a few readers get in touch with the problem, while communities around the web are sharing pre-order notifications of cancellations for a range of figures.

It's a bit of a mess, which is reflecting poorly on Toys "R" Us and - to an extent - Nintendo of America; with Lucario in particular being a retailer exclusive in the region, this situation needs to be resolved. We'll reach out to Toys "R" Us for comment.

Dixie Kong and Waluigi Amiibo Appear on Ebay

Its very clear that Nintendo's Amiibo figures have been very successful and become quite the trend. However, this takes everything to a whole new level of crazy. An eBay seller has put up for sale two custom Amiibo figures. One is Dixie Kong and the other is Waluigi. The quality of these products is quite amazing. You can see that it has what appears to be official boxing (obviously its not actually official). Both figures are available for 'Buy it Now' at US $199.99. A Look at Wave 2 Amiibo Figures

Youtuber, NintenDaan managed to get his hands on the recently released (in Japan) wave 2 Amiibo figures. The video above shows him taking a look at Captain Falcon, Luigi, Pit, and Little Mac.

A Sneak Peek at the First Amiibo Set

Nintendo has just released a new trailer giving a look at the upcoming first set of Amiibo figures. Amiibo will be launching alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on November 21st in North America. Those in Europe are going to have to wait until November 28th for Amiibo and until December 5th for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Official Release Date

Nintendo has officially announced that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Wii U will in fact be launching on November 21st at a suggested retail price of $59.99. The first series of Amiibo figures will be launching simultaneously.

The first wave of Amiibo figures consists of 12 iconic characters: Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth. A second wave of 6 more characters will launch in December. That wave will include Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon.

Twitter user @DavidTendo has posted more evidence that supports a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U release date of November 21st.  The tweet's attached picture also supports evidence that Amiibo will be launching on the same day.
