Alternate Costumes DLC for Super Smash Bros. 4

super smash bros alternate costumes project m skins palette swap mr. l

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has been out for just about a week now here in North America. Playing this game has no doubt been a delight. It really has transferred over well to the portable system. One thing I really like is how they've expanded on the simple palette swap and made actual alternate costumes.

However, I believe there's a lot of room for improvement in this area. For instance, what were they thinking with Little Mac? All characters have 8 alternate skins/costumes. But Little Mac has a whopping 16 alternates. It seemed like they just tried to throw in every possible combination for him. Some characters like the Villager were great in this area. Each alternate costume for the Villager was completely unique and a good tribute to the Animal Crossing series. Then, there's other characters who have nothing but simple skin swaps, such as Donkey Kong and Bowser.

My hope is that they can fix this with some DLC. They could do a lot of great things with this. Just imagine, playing as these characters via alternate costumes after the break:

Will Nintendo end up like Atari and Sega?

wii u announcement e3 reggie fils-aime release date

In the early 1980s, after years of being on top of the world, Atari made the fatal mistake of investing millions of dollars into an E.T. video game, based on the wildly successful film of the same name, only to see it flop. It is regarded as the biggest flop in video game history. Landfills were filled with millions of unsold E.T games due to many publications labeling it as the ‘worst video game of all time.’
Then came the crash.
The video game crash of 1983, also known as 'Atari shock' in Japan, was a massive recession of the video game industry that occurred from 1983 to 1985. Revenues that had peaked at around $3.2 billion in 1983, fell to around $100 million by 1985. The crash was a serious event that brought an abrupt end to what is considered the second generation of console video gaming in North America. You can read the rest of the article after the break.
